STEP INTO SPRING

Pukaar Magazine’s fashion writer Sarita Rai unveils some must have looks for the brand new season.

WOMEN

Enter a new realm of fashion this spring with a palette of light, subtle and pastel shades that suit any complexion. Embrace your femininity and coat yourself in soft whites and lacey textures with detailed patterns.

From fresh whites to bright peaches, these light shades will captivate crowds during the day, right through into the night. On the way out are last season’s floral designs and these have been replaced with logo tees and soft shirts, which will make you look effortlessly chic. Tie up with a pair of light faded jeans or washed out denim to create an understated look at bay. Lace fabrics are huge this season and made a huge impact on the runway. They can be worn in an array of styles to create both casual and smart outfits.

The midi length skirt is this season’s must have piece. Highlighting your figure, the skirt comes in a wide range of fabrics and embellished patterns. A grey jacquard midi length skirt teamed up with a lucent blouse and biker jacket is perfect for a semi-casual work look.

Enhance any outfit with a range of accessories. You can choose from a selection of chunky bangles and embroidered gold bracelets if you want to add a touch of glamour to your look. Go casual with a pair of black pumps or look classy with a pair of gold strap heels. Bright bags are the way to go to finish off any outfit. Opt from colours like coral, orange, red and teal.

MEN

This season opens up a palette of invigorating colours that entwine with the British weather. Dark shades and fresh whites influenced by eastern looks along with refreshing boathouse blues are the way to go. Mix these in with oriental-inspired patterns to make a mark.

For work, keep it neat and clean. Choose a variety of blue and black shades to create a crisp look and wear with a Boathousepatterned collection tie from M&S. You can’t go wrong with a button shirt, team up with a pair of dark-coloured smart chinos or trousers.

Opt for a diamond-detailed patterned shirt and some dark jeans or mustard-coloured chinos to create a classic weekend look. Captured from the runway, these eastern European-inspired shirts have a loose Asian-styled tailoring.

Make a stylish statement with an American-style bomber jacket and wear with a bright sweater teamed up with a pair of luminous trousers to polish off your outfit and create a refined look. And don’t forget your accessories. Tidy up your nine-to-five look with black Autograph shoes or add in some sailor shoes to create the fresh boathouse vibe for a casual weekend.
